We had a task: build the ATH POP® brand from the ground on every social platform. The work was cut out for us, but we love a challenge. After heavy research, we concluded that our teenagers target was mainly on Facebook, and therefore we needed a creative, exciting and fun idea to get their attention and make them want to join the ATH POP® community.
How to achieve this? We ran a contest through a Facebook Tab on which fans would answer a Daily Trivia in hopes to win Big Time Rush VIP concert tickets, a party bus ride to and from the event, and a $200 shopping spree for the winner and 3 friends. We could almost hear the collective teenage scream. We promoted the contest with weekly Facebook posts and a Youtube Tutorial video that explained the whole concept, which received thousands of views.
As a result, we acquired 10K+ fans in less than two months, when our initial goal was 4K. The contest received more than 17K+ participations, which is pretty impressive for a page that started with a fan base of ZERO. We were amazed by the fans’ motivation, because sharing the Trivia with friends meant more chances to win. Those ‘Shares’ spread like wildfire which at the end of the day really helped boosting the participations.
This teaches us two things: 1) Never underestimate the power of teenage idols and 2) We can take your brand from the ground to the top!
